Our Story: Why Two Busy Moms Created Bout d’art Studio

At Bout d'art Studio, our story didn't begin in a nail salon.

It began somewhere much more familiar—between school drop-offs, grocery runs, bedtime stories, work deadlines, and endless weekend playdates.

We are two moms raising young children in Montreal. Like so many women, our calendars revolve around everyone else's schedules before our own. By the time work is done and the kids are asleep, there isn't much time—or energy—left for a two-hour salon appointment.

Yet we still wanted those little moments that make us feel like ourselves.

Fresh nails.
A polished look.
A little confidence before a date night, a wedding, a vacation, an important meeting—or simply a Monday.

That's why Bout d'art Studio was born.

We wanted salon-quality nails without the salon.

No appointments.
No hours spent sitting in a chair.
No commitment to wearing the same manicure for weeks.

Just beautiful nails that take minutes to apply, can be reused again and again, and can change as easily as your outfit, your mood, or the occasion.

For us, press on nails aren't the "cheaper alternative" to salon nails.

They're the smarter one.

 

But creating the kind of handmade press-on nails we dreamed of wasn't easy.

We couldn't find designs that truly felt handmade, luxurious, and worth wearing.

So we decided to create them ourselves.

Every Bout d'art Studio set begins with a clear premium nail tip—not a factory-printed design.

Each piece is individually handcrafted by professional nail artists, from the very first brushstroke. Every color is carefully mixed, every detail is painted by hand, and every design is refined until it meets our own standards.

We obsess over every step—from design and color matching to materials, packaging, and quality control—because if we wouldn't proudly wear it ourselves, we won't send it to you.

 

Our mission has never been to replace nail salons.

It's to give you another choice.

A choice for busy moms.

A choice for professionals with packed schedules.

A choice for travelers.

A choice for anyone who loves beautiful nails but doesn't always have time to sit in a salon—or who simply can't find the design they've been dreaming of.
